Palm Trees & Saltwater is a coastal lifestyle brand inspired by the way we actually live, beach towns, warm water, palm trees, travel, sunsets, good drinks, good music and not taking ourselves too seriously.

What started with stories from our own life has grown into original music, artwork and a collection of beach-inspired apparel and goods we're building for people who'd rather be somewhere near the water.

ABOUT THE MUSIC

Creative Process

I’m David Pruter, the guy behind the music at Palm Trees & Saltwater. Music has been part of my life for about as long as I can remember. I started DJing with a buddy back in Wyoming when I was a kid, eventually building our own DJ business and spending a whole lot of my younger years behind a mixer. These days, that love of music has turned into songs built from real stories, ideas and lyrics from my life, most of them inspired by my wife, my best friend, my favorite person to share a drink and a sunset with, and the person at the center of this whole crazy soundtrack.

I develop the stories, lyrics and creative direction, then use AI-assisted tools throughout the writing, arrangement and production process to help shape those ideas into finished songs. I stay hands-on from the first idea through the final version, deciding what gets written, rewritten, kept, cut and ultimately released.

She’s the reason there are songs worth writing.
