Mamacita Needs a ’Rita

This song started with a scene I know almost by heart. My wife works at a busy physical therapy practice. Four o'clock might be the official end of her day, but there's usually one more patient, one more call, or one more person who needs something. By the time she actually gets home, she's given a lot of herself to everybody else.

Our two fur babies usually know she's home before I do. Then I see her face, those green eyes, and I don't need a full recap to know how the day went. There's a particular look that says it's time to stop answering questions and start making a cocktail.

The margarita is a real part of the ritual. She likes some heat, so the song needed smoky pepper and good tequila, not just a generic beach cocktail. There's even a T-shirt in the story that pretty much spells out the order. I thought that was too good not to turn into a chorus.

Underneath the jokes and the language, this one's really about looking after the person who spends her day looking after everyone else. Get her home, let the bass roll, watch the evening light hit the water, and give the rest of the world permission to wait. The song comes out October 23, 2026.
